Closing the Year With Reflection, Gratitude, and Giving
As the year draws to a close, many of us look forward to rest, celebration, and time with loved ones. For others, December brings financial responsibilities—property taxes, insurance renewals, car payments, or credit card deadlines. Yet beyond all of these worldly concerns lies a deeper truth: another year of our lives has passed, bringing us closer to our ultimate return to Allah.
The Qur’an reminds us of this reality with profound clarity:
“Just as We began the first creation, We will repeat it.” - Surah Al‑Anbiyā’ (21:104)
And again:
“Everyone upon it will perish, and only the Face of your Lord, full of Majesty and Honor, will remain.” -
— Surah Ar-Rahman - 26-27
These verses call us to pause, reflect, and realign our hearts with what truly matters.
A Three‑Week Invitation to Give
As we enter the second week of December 2025, we invite you to end this year with an act of generosity that strengthens our community and nourishes your soul. Over the next three weeks, consider giving charity in a purposeful and spiritually uplifting way:
This week: Give on behalf of your parents—whether they are living or have returned to Allah.
Next week: Give on behalf of your spouse and children.
Final week: Give on your own behalf, sincerely for the sake of Allah.
This simple practice not only benefits those in need but also connects your giving to the people who shaped your life.
The Blessings of Charity (https://tinyurl.com/icrpay)
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ beautifully taught:
“Charity does not decrease wealth.”
— Sahih Muslim 2588
He also said:
“When a person dies, all his deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him.” — Sunan an-Nasa'i 3651
These teachings remind us that charity is not a loss—it is an investment in our hereafter and a source of ongoing reward.
Allah also reminds us:
“Whatever blessing you have, it is from Allah.” —Surah An-Nahl - 53
Every gift we give is simply returning a portion of what He has already granted us.
Give With Gratitude and Hope
As you give, let your heart be filled with gratitude for the countless blessings Allah has bestowed upon you this past year. And remember: the One who provided for you before is fully capable of providing for you again—abundantly and generously—in the year ahead.
May Allah accept your charity, bless your families, expand your provision, and grant us all years filled with goodness, growth, and barakah.
