Introduction:

The ICR Sunday School, hosted at the Islamic Center of Riverside, offers a nurturing and spiritually enriching environment where young learners deepen their connection to Islam. Through a balanced curriculum and compassionate instruction, students build foundational knowledge in Arabic, Quranic studies, and Islamic values—laying the groundwork for lifelong faith and character development.

Program Overview:

Arabic Literacy

• Instructions in reading and recognizing Arabic letters and words

• Age-appropriate progression from beginner to advanced levels

Quranic Recitation and Memorization

• Emphasis on correct pronunciation (tajweed)

• Memorization of selected surahs with contextual understanding

• Encouragement of daily practice and spiritual reflection

Islamic Studies

• Core teachings of Islam including the Five Pillars, prophetic stories, and moral conduct

• Interactive lessons that promote character development and community awareness

• Activities that reinforce learning through storytelling, crafts, and group discussion
